RFA Rules
VI. TBL Free Agency (RFA period)
6.1. Free Agents Defined
Players become free agents (RFAs) when their contract status reaches 0 years.
6.1a. When a player's contract ends, he becomes a
restricted free agent (RFA), who can be offered a contract by any team in the
league with the current team given the right to match or beat the offer.
6.1b. A list of all of the upcoming RFA’s will be posted on
the TBL website (NOT RTSports) ONLY PLAYERS THAT WERE ON A TBL
FRANCHISE DURING THE REGULAR SEASON WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE BIDS
6.1c. GMs must declare their FRANCHISE and TRANSITION players one week PRIOR to the start of the RFA session (the deadline will be announced by the TBL commissioner)
6.1d. ALL bids for RFA’s must be placed on the TBL
Forum board (NOT the RTSports message board)
under the thread labeled FREE AGENT BIDS. GMs must list: their
team name, the name of the free agent, the amount of the bid, and his current
NFL and TBL teams.
(EXAMPLE OF RFA BID)
RB Jamal Lewis (Atoms) - 5 blb
Once a post is made it cannot be edited, if you want to bid higher you must
place another post on the message board. (IF A POST SHOWS THAT IT WAS EDITED IT
WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND THE PLAYER WILL GO TO THE TEAM WITH THE NEXT HIGHEST
BID)
6.1e. Free agent bidding will be done in sections based on positions (to be announced by TBL commissioner)
6.1f. If a bid is placed on a player that has the FRANCHISE or TRANSITION tag by another franchise, that player's owner will be notified that another team has made an offer to your player. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GM TO KEEP TRACK OF THE BIDS ON HIS PLAYERS, NOT THE COMMISSIONER
6.1g. If you wish to keep your player you must place a bid that matches or exceeds the highest bid on the board for your player. You will have ONE (1) day from the time that you are notified if applicable or from the time of a free agent bid to match that offer or you will lose that player to the team that placed the highest bid.
6.1h. The bidding day ends at 11:00pm each day- Bids placed after this time will be counted towards the next day.
6.1i. The bidding process for any given player will end ONE DAY after the final bid is posted on the message board at which time the commissioner will declare that players destination on the TBL forum board.
6.1j. If no other team submits a contract offer before the end of the RFA signing period, you may re-acquire that player at no cost. Players signed by this method can only be signed to 1 year contracts
6.1k. Teams must announce the number of contract years they are signing the player within one week of the day they were awarded the player or the players will be placed back in the RFA pool.
6.1l. In the event that a team
wins multiple bids on the same position OR their winning bid puts them over the
limit at any position the team must immediately notify the TBL commissioner
their intentions. GMs will be forced to decide which player(s) they wish to
keep. The released player(s) will be offered to the team that had next lowest
bid. That GM may either chose to take him and pay the amount he bid or he can
decline to accept the offer. In the event that the GM does not wish to keep the
player, he will be placed back into the RFA pool to be bid on again. If the RFA
period is over the player will return to the draft pool.
6.1m.The team that had won bids on
multiple players will NOT receive ANY blb back from
the players they won even in the event that they are released.
6.1o. GMs may bid more blbs on players than they possess. In the event they win
bid(s) on players and do not have enough blb to cover
them you will be notified by the TBL commissioner and given 24 hours to
acquire the blbs needed to complete the transaction
or the player will be awarded to the next highest bid. The GM may elect to take
the player offered of they can decline the player. If they elect to take him
they must pay the cost of the bid they had posted on the message board. In the
event the GM no longer wants the player he will be sent back to the RFA pool.
