The History of The Big League

Many of the GMs that play in this league have been playing fantasy football together for nearly 15 years. This league has undergone many changes since our days keeping track of the stats with the USA Today until the use of commissioner services on the internet. This groundwork for this league originally started back in 1990 and five of the original owners still play in this league. The league adopted a keeper format in 1998 and was nicknamed "The Big League" to discern between two leagues with similar people in it. "The Big League" had eight franchises the year it was established. In 1999 we had our first expansion draft as we increased the number of teams in the league to 12. In 2002 we expanded to 14 teams and in 2007 we expanded again, adding two more teams to bring us to our total of 16 franchises that we have today. The Big League was originally a keeper league and has evolved into the dynasty league format that we incorporate today. Over the years there have been many changes as we continually seek to make this the best league possible. This page will help guide you through the historical records of the league. The league features many unconventional scoring ideologies designed to create parody throughout the league and simulate the NFL in the closest way possible. Items are updated each off-season.
